Sanskrit Language Classes
Sanskrit is an ancient language that has been spoken and written in India since at least the 4th century BC. It is the primary liturgical language of Hinduism and the predominant language of most works of Hindu philosophy as well as some texts of Buddhism and Jainism. Sanskrit, through Prakrit and Pali, also influenced Tibetan, Mongolian, Burmese, Thai, Lao, Khmer, Mon Khmer and Myanmar languages. Sanskrit was not only a spoken language but also a written form which evolved over three thousand years ago. It was originally used to write poetry but later on it was used to write prose texts as well. It was later adopted by many Indian vernaculars such as Hindi-Urdu to serve as a literary language. Sanskrit is an Indo-Aryan language, which belongs to the Indo-Iranian branch of the Indo-European languages.
